In 1984 Ken Alsford, Ken Page and Christopher Gems completed a management buyout of Robert Arnold & Co and renamed the company Alsford, Page & Gems. Added value was brought to the company in 1988 when the Axa Group became a shareholder.
Compliance with regulatory authorities has always been of the highest priority. In 1990 APG were amongst the first brokers to be registered under the stringent Lloyd's regulatory rules and in 2004 they were registered by the FSA.
The business has grown and diversified acquiring a leading Marine & Speciality Re-Insurance Team in 2004 and a leading Market Hull TLO and Original Conditions team.
